Operation Live in the Moment for a Father of the Bride
My client originally reached out to see if I could generate ideas for and put together welcome bags for out-of-town guests to his daughter’s wedding, but the more we spoke about the wedding-related tasks he was carrying alone as a single dad working a high-pressure job, the more our scope of work grew.
This Father of the Bride was laser-focused on providing his dear family and friends with impeccable hospitality, even though the wedding was hundreds of miles away from his home. You see, this network of family and friends supported him in his career and in his parenthood, as he raised his daughter around the world in the course of his military service. The wedding guests were his champions, the helpers in his village, and he wanted to honor them with comfort and care.
Say no more, sir.
Take a deep breath. We’ve got you covered.
Before the wedding
In the month leading up to the wedding, we:
Sourced contents for the guest welcome bags to include useful items, local treats, and information about the festivities.
Worked with the hotel to build a menu
Decided on floral decorations for a welcome dinner and champagne toast
Created signage for the hotel and wedding venue
Arranged shipping of two classic cars to be used at the wedding
Procured an audiovisual company to facilitate the playing of slideshows at the welcome dinner and wedding reception - plus cold sparks to announce the new couple and a fog machine for their first dance
Paid vendors and tracking expenses
On-site support
The days before and day of the wedding, we:
Traveled from Richmond, Virginia to Charlotte, North Carolina
Assembled and delivered the guest welcome bags
Confirmed vendor plans and signed off on deliveries
Hosted guests at the welcome dinner before client arrived
And the best part? While in Charlotte, I got to have dinner with one bestie who recently moved there AND another bestie - and her whole family were in town for this wedding, too. My client graciously invited me to his daughter’s wedding and included me in the joyous celebration - alongside his trusted circle of friends and family members. If you know me, you know that relationships matter, so not only did I get quality time with people I already knew and loved, but I had the pleasure of adding a client to the dear friend list. What a gift. My heart is so very full. Bonus content: check out this fantastic Father of the Bride speech!
