Reduce your mental load and find joy.

Meet Laura Kassner

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to get through this thing called life.”

And I’m so glad you we’re here together.

Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I’m an elder-millennial working mama, living in rural Central Virginia with three beautiful kiddos, two active pups, and a capable partner. And even with that capable partner, the mental load of anticipating needs, planning for the future, maintaining relationships, and cultivating well-being takes a significant amount of brain space. The never-shrinking to do list and the invisible labor it takes to make life happen frustrate most women.

I’ve been most successful at managing this additional burden when I engage my network of trusted mamas to listen to me, ask good questions, provide suggestions, and sometimes even take something off my plate.

But not everyone has this important network, or the skills and time necessary to support in a given situation.

< Enter Laura, stage right >

I have over 20 years of professional experience as an educator, researcher, facilitator, large-scale project leader, and communication strategist in public, private, and non-profit sectors. And I’ve been parenting for nearly 13 years, (parenting three kids for almost a decade), and I earned my doctorate.

I can get sh*t done and probably make you laugh at the same time. I’m no picture-perfect Pinterest mom, but my friend calls me a perpetual problem solver.

I’ll get curious, ask good questions, research solutions, develop and tinker with what works, and share what I learn. Importantly, I’m a compassionate listener and competent problem-solver who finds joy in supporting people through challenges. And not only do I want to support you, I want to help make this world more just - for us and for future generations.

My mission is to bring awareness to invisible labor, improve the quality of life of my clients, and contribute to large-scale change. So while your individual load gets lighter, you’re also a part of something bigger.

I believe acknowledging and valuing invisible labor is the first step in distributing this work more equitably - in relationships, in our families, in our workplaces, and in world. By making the invisible apparent to our partners, employers, and legislators - and by assigning worth to our time and efforts - we can have more honest conversations about equity of workload and compensation. Furthermore, I can accelerate our collective impact by using a portion of my profits as investments in difference-making organizations in our communities. It’s a win-win.

I’d love to work with you,

- LK
